Cooking time
This morning I planned to cook a steam bun (siopao)for this coming new year. I’m glad my kids did not bother me much when I’m cooking because it’s really hard to cook while the kids are whiny or throwing their fits. When you are preparing the steam bun that’s really a lot hard work, but I love to prepare that. My family and friend's love it even though it has too many calories, forget about dieting lol. The next day another dish prepared and put into the freezer. So on Saturday it’s not really hard to prepare all the food at one time. All I have to do is to heat all up and cook the easy way. I’m not invited many friends because I just plan to prepare just enough for 5 people plus my family.

Stiff Neck
We had a blast Christmas, yesterday we went too my mother in law to visit her and we also visited with my brother in law and his family. They were supposed to come Saturday but they were delayed because he had something he needed to finish his school project. However, they came Sunday and the kids had a blast playing with their cousins. I even enjoyed them when the exchanged gifts. Zoe was extremely pleased with the gift that we gave her. It was a watch that you can change the bands and a ring on the face. It must have had more than a hundred colors. Now, I'm home and I have a stiff neck. I guess I slept on it wrong last night.

I received many gifts today that I needed and wanted. However, the one thing that I did nit get on my gift list was linens. I was hoping for some new sferra linens that I saw online. They are my favorite ones. However, since I did not get any linens maybe I can finds some on sale after the holidays. I do love shopping for discounts after the holidays!

Merry Christmas Everyone! We had a wonderful Christmas! Of course, we also over ate too much!
buy gold online
My husband is thinking that inflation will hit this country big time sometime in the near future. He said that maybe it was time to invest in gold and other precious metals. So I’m just sitting here on my new computer that I received for Christmas and we are looking to buy gold online. However, we have not bought anything like that and would like to here some feedback form someone that has done it before.
Cancel that day
We go and visit again my mother in law to meet my husband's eldest brother. However, I heard that they can’t come because they have some project to finish for his son's school. So they decided to come tomorrow(Sunday afternoon). My eldest son was excited to meet his cousin, but he was disappointed when he knows that they canceled to come that day. So later on we starting eating with mom's friends. Her other two sons were there. They had lots of food that she prepared and right now I might as well forget about the diet hehehehe.

change plan
My husband told me that his mom planned to open the presents today. Normally we are supposed to open them tomorrow. She said that she can cook and relax so she won’t worry about doing it all the same day. Her eldest son with his family is also coming from 0Houston.
Anyway we went to my mother-in-law's and we opened our presents. We both enjoyed it especially for the kids. It's really enjoyable to watch the kids when they open the presents and watch their reactions when they see what they got. Okay everyone this is all for now and tomorrow will be a Christmas, the time baby Jesus was born. Have a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year!!!!

Last Day at Work!
Today was my last day at work and Charles last day at school until next year. I will enjoy the Christmas vacation, but I will miss my paycheck being shorted. At least we get to recharge out batteries and attitudes before we go back to work. I have just a little shopping to do to finish for Christmas and I'm done. Now if I just can motivate my husband to go out and shop for me. I'm the only one in the house that has nothing under the tree. He said it wasn't December 24th yet.

Christmas is Coming!
I really love Christmas! It is my favorite holiday. However, I do not like all the stress that comes with it. I try and focus on Jesus, family and friends, but I sometimes get carried away and lose my focus. It seems like I'm busy doing too many things. I will stop whining now and wish all my online friends a very Merry Christmas!

Bridal Jewelry
Is it true that every woman best friend is diamonds? I know that I love them. I am sitting here online and checking out some gorgeous Bridal Jewelry. I was looking at jewelry online trying to get my husband over here and give him some hints for Christmas. So far he has ignored all my subtle hints, which means I need a more direct approach. I’ll just call him over and show him what I want. I don’t think I can be more direct than that beside hitting him over the head. I hope you know that’s just a figure of speech, I wouldn’t really hit him over the head.
Casters
My husband is trying to assemble a high chair for the baby. The baby has grabbed the casters and my husband is chasing him. It’s funny to watch because the baby is running around the sofa. However, I guess I need to go intervene because I know that soon my husband will get mad because he is in no mood to play. I still wish that I had my video camera.

Small Business Grants
Have you ever dreamed about owning your own business? I know that I have always thought about opening my own restaurant once I came to America. The problem was always getting the start up money. My husband also works with veterans to help them transition back into the workforce. He is always asked if they have somewhere to go and ask for different Small Business Grants . He always told them that they did not have such a website.
However, I have found that website while I was searching and using the internet. I couldn’t believe it, I rushed to tell my husband about the site that helps individuals get Small Business Grants. He came to the computer and wrote down the site and said that he will plan to check it out tomorrow and see all the programs they have to offer. I’m going to start checking them out tonight. If you want to check it out too, you can follow the link I posted above.

Raised Cholesterol ??????
I had a check-up with my doctor and they took a little blood. They called me last Friday at the house but I was at work. My doctor was concerned that my Cholesterol was raised. He wants me to exercise and eat better and go back and visit him in one month. I wonder how many other people he advises to do that? i also wonder how many people take him up on that advice? Anyway, maybe that will finally give me the motivational to keep exercising.
Medical Scrubs
I’m sitting here blogging while doing a load of laundry and we all know that is one of my favorite chores. Well, I know it’s OK to begin my blog post with a little irony. Anyway, I’m looking at my work uniforms and they are all old and faded. I’m almost embarrassed and ashamed now to wear them to work.
So I’m sitting here wondering if I should buy scrubs online or wait and see if someone will buy me as a Christmas gift. I normally buy them at one of the local scrub stores , but I have been checking out the prices online. I work in a school cafeteria and we use medical scrubs for our uniforms. I am leaning toward waiting to see if I get some scrubs as a gift which I have been dropping hints fairly strong lately.

I hope you are having a great day. Trying to get motivated and figure out what to feed the family. I'm tired from work and have no energy left. Whatever I fix, I'm sure it will be quick and fast.

Little winter village in our house
Guest post written by Jane Bowers
I had this really amazing dollhouse when I was a little girl and I always spent a lot of time playing with it. But unfortunately, I have two boys that don't have the slightest interest in dollhouses, so I decided this year I was going to compromise with that and buy a little holiday village to put on display and thought that it would be a fun thing to do and put out.
I had seen a lot of those little light-up villages in stores before, but wanted to do a lot of research before I decided which brand I wanted to buy. While I was online doing that I ran across the site ClearwireWimax4g.com and after reading through it a little bit, ordered one of the home internet packages.
I've already bought a few pieces for my winter village and my husband converted an old coffee table that we had into a surface to display all of them on. I also made a little white picket fence to go around the edge of the village!

Grandma responds to I'm no Hero
Nay, young man, sit over there,
In our dedicated hero's chair.
While people here at home just cried,
While Uncle Sam to nephews lied,
While mothers' hearts were sorely tried,
YOU went to 'Nam and nearly died.
You dealt with gore, you dealt with blood,
You dealt with Vietnam's stinking mud,
You dealt with Charley's stinking breath,
You dealt with every buddy's death,
You were there, and I was not,
I wish I had the guts you've got.
When you got home, you were denied,
The righteous warrior's winning pride.
Your naive innocence forever gone -
No, I don't want to hear it, son.
You just get comfy over there,
In our dedicated hero's chair.
One thing you don't understand
About what makes heroic man.
Heros, too, are oft afraid,
But scared or not, what makes them brave
Is that no matter what the cost,
They do the job they know they must.
With no excuses, no denying,
No appeals, no whining, crying
About "Why me?" and "Why not Joe?"
You went where you were told to go.
You did what must be done out there,
So you go sit in that there chair.
While you were gone, I stayed in school
And heard the loud, protesting fool
Who tore our country near asunder
Ranting in a voice like thunder,
Who burned the great Red, White, and Blue,
Mocking, hating, men like you.
None of them had ever fought.
You were there and they were not.
You saw the horrors of the war
While they reviled you from afar.
I hate to disagree with you,
But you're a hero, tried and true.
So I'll bring cookies, milk, and cheer
And keep you company out here.
The kids will stand around in awe
As you tell stories of the war
And maybe, when your tales are done,
YOU'll know you are a hero, son!
Blessings,
Grandma

Traveling for the Holidays
Guest post written by Dan Cortin
Now that Thanksgiving has passed by, my wife Kaitlin and I are already looking forward to Christmas. We had such a great time with our family that we really canÕt wait to see them all again. With everyone busy schedule, we really put high stock in seeing our family over the holidays. Looking ahead, we are already thinking of some of the fun things that we can do this holiday seasonÑand not just getting a new pair of Digital Miracle Ear Hearing Aids , haha! Yeah, now that weÕre retired, we arenÕt really restricted by time as much as our other family members, and before Christmas, I think that Kate and I are going to take a quick trip to see New York. IÕve always been told that there isnÕt any place like New York around the holidays.
Kaitlin and I discussed it, and we want to see the MacyÕs, Fifth Avenue, and a lot of the other famous holiday sights and luminous decorations around the big city. Plus, all the snow will really get us in the mood. We donÕt get a ton of snow in Georgia. A trip to NYC is just what we need to get in the Christmas spirit. WeÕll have so much to talk about when our wonderful family reconvenes.

i'm no hero
i'm no hero

The lady said, “Heroes sit here,
In our most honored chair,”
“I don’t mean to sound insincere,”
I replied, “but where do I sit,”
“Because I’m no hero. No, not a bit.
I just went where my country told me to go.
There was no question, there was no pause,
Nothing there that should merit applause.
I’m no hero!
Just because into the breach of hell I did go.
For men of honor have no choice
Than to join in the shout with freedom’s voice
I didn’t think about it, I just went,
To join the army of soldiers sent...
Wouldn’t anybody?
I’m no hero!
I would rather not have had to go,
If there was another way I don’t know.
Sure, I’ve got a purple heart for the time I bled.
People saw me then, thought I’d soon be dead.
But I survived the war winds foulest blow.
Escaped the master of death in embattled mist below.
I’m no hero!
I just slugged it out with Charley toe-to-toe,
I crossed his deadly path
Still feel his demonic wrath
His bullets incessantly stinging
Feeling incessant tearing forever shedding
In my soldier’s wearied mind,
Honoring buddies left behind!
Though the war’s now blowing in the wind,
Heart and soul still rend.
I’m no hero!
For then I felt no fear I now intimately know.
Now I dream of rogue bullets that death’s questions ask,
Killing their favorite task...
I see in dreams where through fetid jungle they tore
Doing their killing chore,
So quick, so clean, sweeping past
Memories suck me in from future cast,
Forever changing moods lightning fast,
Forever taking lives, yet not the last...
I’m no hero!
I simply had a duty when called to go
I didn’t back down, but quelled the foe.
I swore with all might to try
To God’s bidding do, or die!
Because I loved my country more than life
Vowed to follow behind patriot’s drum and fife.
To win freedoms to which forefathers clove
Undead regiments with youthful principles war drove!
Heroes are men endowed with great courage,
Who with great strength sway bloody fields of carnage.
Heroes are men of bold exploits favored by God,
Bearing noble purpose born of native sod.
I’m just an ordinary man who saw his duty,
Who answered a call to arms to defend beloved liberty.
I’m no hero, as you can plainly see.
When the roll was called to stand for their country
I stood...that’s all!
I did nothing special that honor on me should befall.
In Vietnam I did a little walking,
A little sweating, A little bleeding,
Almost dying
A purple heart earning
Some call A “Move too slow award”
That near cut life’s silver cord.
I'm no hero, for I did nothing witty nor wise
I’m just one of the countless little guys
Who faced daily war’s evil eyes...
Doing his duty against war's bestial ogre cunning
Demons within and without constantly fighting
Hoping, searching, fearing, humping
Marching with thousands of brothers-in-arms alongside
Through valley's shadow where patriotic spirits guide.
I’m no hero...
Though for uncle Sam seeds of war did sow
Bearing patriotic heritage planted long ago.
I faced warlord Ho Chi Minh’s fiery breath,
Deep and deeper into bowels of shadowed death.
With vengeance he'd banished freedom’s light,
Cast unwelcome caresses of wars despicable blight.
Good men of conscience had that despot to stop,
Proclaim bastions of freedom on every mountaintop.
I’m no hero...
Just another war-torn Joe,
Whose warrior soul arose above cannon’s roar,
Like eagles, young men's brave spirits soar,
Bearing naive and gung-ho this boy next door,
Above a soil enriched with soldiers seeping blood,
Getting down and dirty in Nam’s mud.
They say war measures the depth of a hero
Young boy’s ruin mid thundered guns aglow,
Just links in the chain
Sent duty to retain, freedom to proclaim
Growing acts of war like cancer in the brain
A new set of senses war does indelibly ingrain,
Combat infantrymen fates defy
Virulent beasts raging inside till the day I too die.
I’m no hero!
Not at all like Rambo.
To this day living with war etched into my lifetime
Always watching for movements out of rhyme
Ever listening for sounds that don’t belong,
Always with the feeling something’s wrong.
I still roam triple canopied jungle where I lost the boy
In elephant grasses lost much of life’s joy.
Neither wine nor advances of withering sun
Can ever warm a cold, heated year of the gun.
I’m no hero!
Just because I stepped into war’s inferno.
I was raised believing you answered when called,
To go somewhere where freedom's were galled
For a noble allegiance the young owed
To shoulder a nation's heavy load
To honor a sacred duty forsworn,
The clarion trumpeted an obligation born,
To win the red badge of courage, proudly worn.
Vietnam was a duty you could not with honor refuse.
Respect for goodly values I will always choose
There was no choice but to do it, or self esteem lose,
For their comes a time when you have to pay your dues
To beloved honor uphold
To keep this the land of the free and bold
For country, for neighbors, for family, for God...for self!

Acsonix Reviews
How many of you ladies like to pamper yourselves every once in a while? I know I do! I enjoy facials, manicures and pedicures, so maybe my husband will take the hint and get me a proper Christmas present that will indulge me. If not, maybe I will indulge myself. I have been reading online different acsonix reviews. Acsonix has two ingredients in facials that help fight acne. So if I’m going to treat myself, might as well kill two birds with one stone.
Happy Thursday

Myspace Thursday Graphics
Happy Thursday and the best thing about Thursday is the next day is Friday. We are looking forward to this weekend so we can rest. We are still tired and recovering from our holiday vacation.
Anti Wrinkle Cream
My friend is getting older and she is worried about the aging process.
I told her if she was worried that much that she needs to check into getting an anti wrinkle cream. She wondered if the products really worked and I suggested that she do some research on different products. Of course she asked me where to get started, so I suggested Google.

My Little Man
Fat Burner
I finally put my husband on a forced diet. I did it because I just don’t cook the same amount of food as before. He said that it’s alright, but I wonder if he is a slightly disappointed. I know he would never complain, but it’s time to start somewhere even if it’s eating less portions. I have been thinking about getting him a fat burner as one of his Christmas gifts. My thinking is that with the New Year just around the corner that he might get motivated more than to just eat less.
Doctors
Today I had to take off of work to go to two doctors appointments. I had my annual physical with my primary care physician. It was also time for my annual visit to my personal doctor. I just don't like talking about that one. Everything is fine. I just feel like going to doctors is a waste of time if your not sick, but I know it's for the best. Maybe I'm just tired of doctors because of all the visits with the kids. My husband normally takes care of his own business so at least that is one I don't worry about.

Christmas Gifts
Christmas is just around the corner and it will be here before you know it. I have bought the majority of our gifts already and I’m so proud of myself because I stayed within my budget so far. My husband is proud of me too and I find it funny that he expects me to stay within budget, but he does not have too. Since I buy all the gifts for everyone else and he only buys for me, I can not complain if he overspends his part of the budget.
I still have to get gifts for my husband, mom and the kids. My mom has wanted a pair of good boots since she moved to New York. She says it snows all the time there and she could use a pair of boots. Next, my husband loves the outdoors and he needs another backpack . His backpack that he has now is old, torn and just plain worn out. I think he would be surprised because he isn’t expecting me to get a backpack for him. Last, I have been thinking about getting new jackets and coats for the kids. They both grow up so fast. They have outgrown their clothes from last season. So hopefully I can find what I’m looking for online and finish my shopping early. Now if my mom can send some of that snow here to the south, we would have a great Christmas!
