Carolina Designs

We had a blast on vacation this year. The kids and I flew into New York to visit my mom, sister and Papa Kevin. We went into the city for one day for personal passport business after that we headed straight to their cottage on Lake Ontario. The water was cold but we loved the jet sky and swimming. It was also fun watching the Fourth of July Fireworks over the lake. Next we took off to Niagara Falls and after we returned home we went to Heresy Park.

Now, I’m trying to think of ideas to top this years vacation. I have been looking for places near the ocean. I miss the swimming in the salt water. I was impressed with the Outer Banks rentals by Carolina Designs. The homes are very beautiful plus they are near the ocean. Now I just need to convince my husband to get over here at the computer and look at them too.

Good Party

We arrived home around 9:00 P.M. last night from the birthday party. Mt friends grandson turned 1 year old yesterday and that is an important birthday for our Filipino culture. It was past Matt’s bedtime and I was surprised that he did not fall asleep in the car ride home. Charles was out like a light. Both kids played hard. I think a little too hard. Matt was so tired and he woke up at midnight crying. We both ended up sleeping on the living room floor. We all took a long nap today. I think we all took a 2 hour nap.

Gold Bars

My husband is worried about the economy and the direction it is going. He has been observing the stock market bouncing up and down daily. He said that we have lost to much money ever since the economy crashed, so he has been thinking about investing in precious metals. He has been checking out the price of gold bars online. I think that we will be buying some real soon.

Party Time

Today we get to go to a birthday party. My friend's grandson will have his first birthday today. I just got back from shopping and picking up a gift. Now I'm trying to get the kids ready so we can leave. We shopped this morning for groceries and now the kids are excited to party. It will be a Filipino party. Dad decided to stay home and finish some projects. It's time to go and will be back online later.

Business Credit Report

I always wondered how financial institutions make decisions on business loans. I stumbled upon a website that offers business credit reports. I didn’t even know that such a thing existed. The best news is that you can pay them as you go for each report. I know I have done business with companies that are bankrupt and the warranty on the product I bought was null and void. It’s nice top know that you can check out different businesses operations before you make critical decisions like investing or loaning them money.

We are sitting here wondering how hot it it will get today. We are tired of the 100 degree plus weather. The front lawn is brown. All the grass has died. My husband said look on the bright side because he doesn't have to cut the grass now. We can use some rain too. We are getting close to a drought. I guess we will just chill out and hang out in the AC.

Christmas Keepsakes

Well, everyone in our house is settled back into school which normally get’s me in the mood for Christmas. Maybe it’s the retailers putting out stuff for Christmas about this time, but it has been on my mind. I was looking for the perfect gift for my mother-in-law. She has been collecting christmas keepsakes for about the last three years. So I have been looking online to see if I can get some ideas.

Wishing for Fall

We are sitting here praying for rain so that it will cool off the outside temperatures. It has been a very hot summer this year and we are wishing that Fall will hurry up and come soon. We have had 13 days of over 100 degrees and growing. We are ready for some football weather, well at least the boys are ready for some football. Momma is ready to shop and update everyone's wardrobe.

Electric Blanket

My husband said that at his work, they are having thermostat wars. A lady gets cold and will turn it up to 80 degrees and then some other will go turn it down to 68 degrees. He said at first that it5bwaqs funny, but now it’s ridicules. The manager stepped in and solved it by putting it on 72 degrees. The cold lady, well, she just brought her an electric blanket to work.

Vintage T Shirts

My husband is getting older and he really doesn’t like the new music being put out today. I haven’t gotten his birthday present yet this month and I was checking out an online website that sells vintage t shirts. I think they had some pretty cool t shirts especially all the old rock and roll groups that he loves. He is hard to chose a gift for because he never let’s go of much emotion. However, I know he will be pleased with this years gift.

Logistics

We are still trying to work out the logistics for the new school year. Charles has not really started school yet until August 18th and we are always changing which parent will carry the kids to daycare. Once he starts school then we can establish a good routine. Our family thrives on routine, the only other option is organized chaos. It didn't help that I was called in early the last two work days.

Medicare plan

I call my husband’s mother “Mom.” So Mom called and wanted to come over and use our computer. I asked her if she knew how to use it, but she just laughed and said no. She meant that she wanted me to use it for her and do some research on a Medicare plan. She’s retired now and she wants to make a smart decision when choosing provider. I told her come over anytime and we would jump right to it.

Meet the Teacher

Today we had the opportunity to meet Charles's teacher. We carried his school supplies and met Mrs Dart. She was a rally nice teacher and I think she will teach Charles many new things this year. All the kids will start full time tomorrow except the kindergartners. They will start full day on August 18th. Each child will basically get a 1 hour block of testing and observation. Charles will get tested on Thursday. He is excited about starting the new year and meeting new friends.

Online Schools

As everyone knows, it’s back to school time. It’s time that I will also go back to work. My eldest boy will be starting kindergarten. So I have been thinking about my future. I have been discussing with my husband about returning to school myself. He suggested that I try looking at Online Schools. I had never thought about that before. So I’m sitting here online checking out different universities that offer a degree that I wish to pursue.

Happy Sunday!

We were happy to return to our church this morning. As you know, the kids and I were in New York state the whole month of July. We enjoyed ourselves very much. I was happy to go in my church today. Last Sunday we were home, but were still recovering form vacation.

Elkay sinks

I came home Sunday from shopping and found my husband repairing the plumbing under our kitchen sink. I know your thinking big mistake and he should call the plumber, but he fixed it well. He said that the trap developed a hole in the plastic pipe, It’s fixed now, but I asked him why he didn’t go ahead and change the sink. I have had my eye some Elkay sinks because our original one is in pretty bad shape. He told me to wait until we got some extra money.

It's Done!!!

We will register the eldest child in kindergarten and soon he will be starting class. We plan to go to school to register him tomorrow and this afternoon we went shopping for school supplies for my son-- so all will be ready. My son was happy when he knew that we would be shopping for him. We were glad that the store was not so crowded at that time, especially it's Sunday and many people are going in the store. It was pretty good because we bought what he needed except they have one item that we couldn't find. I’m sure the other store will have it, but we don’t really need to worry about that because we still have plenty of time.

Elliptical Trainer

I have been exercising to get back in shape. I don’t like the few extra pounds that I am carrying. So I have been searching online pricing different exercise equipment. Right now I am looking at an elliptical trainer. I have never used one of those before. If you have used one and had some results, please leave your comments below because I am leaning toward buying one.

Wedding Shower

Yesterday, my mother-in-law and I went to a wedding shower. My husband's cousin is getting married. She is very young to be marring. She is only 17 years old. I understand it's not our business. Her soon to be husband is going into the military. I hope and wish them the best of luck and happiness. Our prayers will be with them.
